Video visit of my guitar room / home studio

A video visit of my guitar room / home studio, because it’s been redone since the last one, and I never took the time to show it… so here we go. In it I show some guitars, electric and acoustic, amps, pedals, recording gear, some parts on the shelf, and a bunch of computers. How geeky can one get? Apparently, plenty geeky! 🙂

So welcome to Casa Mojo.

Fender Telecaster Hot Rod 52 & Carmen Ghia amp.

Fender Telecaster Hot Rod 52 review

This guitar is US made, with a single Tele bridge pickup and a Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker in the neck position. The neck is medium chunky, the finish is butterscoth nitro – see through so you can enjoy the grain – and the guitar comes in a beautiful Fender Tweed case.

Gear used: Carmen Ghia by Dr Z for the amp, and an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail reverb pedal.

Tom Anderson Cobra & Carmen Ghia.

This is a review of my latest guitar, a Tom Anderson Cobra, telecaster-shaped, with three P90 pickups. The top is quilted maple, the back is Mahogany, and so is the neck. 5 way switch, and the tone knob is a push pull that adds the bridge pickup.

Played through a Dr Z Carmen Ghia, with a dash of reverb courtesy of an Electro Harmonics Holy Grail…

Melancon Cajun Gentleman into a carmen Ghia.

Melancon Cajun Gentleman guitar review

Recently acquired a beautiful Melancon Cajun Gentleman built by Gerard Melancon in Louisiana. This guitar is incredible in terms of build quality, woods used and accessories. The pickups are TV Jones Filtertron and Filtertron +, and the guitar also has a Bigsby. The body is Swamp ash with a flamed maple top. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard… I am in love! Gear used for this video include a Dr Z Carmen Ghia and a Holy Grail reverb

Tom Anderson Cobra w/ 3P90s and a Mini Z

Take a Tom Anderson Cobra. Add three P90s – because you can. Plug that sucker into an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail reverb pedal.

Proceed to plug the afore-mentioned gear into a Dr Z Mini Z amp w/ the volume set at 1200hrs, and the attenuator at “4”.

Then go ahead and pretend you can play some blues.

yeah, it’s fun, ain’t it?

Dr Z Mini Z & MojoTwanger Tele review

Step 1: Take a MojoTwanger Mod Shop Telecaster, loaded with Fralin Blues Specials pickups
Step 2: Plug that sucker into a Dr Z Mini Z head.
Step 3: Add Reverb to taste – in this case, a Holy Grail.

Reverend Rocco w/ Mini Z head

Reverend Rocco w/ Mini Z head, along with a Holy Grail verb and a DigiTech JamMan looper. What fun!

This Rocco features a faux maple top, two humbuckers and a bass contour knob. This is a very versatile guitar tonally, with a great, comfy neck. another Joe Naylor success!

Lentz HSL into Dr Z Mini Z head, Part III

Lentz HSL into Dr Z Mini Z head, Part III… this time w/ a backing track in the style of Gary Moore’s Still Got The Blues. The tones this guitar deliver never cease to amaze me.

Gear used:

Scott Lentz HSL, neck position.
Dr Z Mini Z amp: Volume at 1500hrs, and attenuator on 3.
EH Holy Grail verb, knob at 0900hrs.

Sorry about all the clams, I was just going for the fun tones 🙂
